2LT Tina Rossi, Mizzou Veterinary Medicine

2LT Tina Rossi is a Tiger BN class of 2023 alumni and current first-year student at the Mizzou School of Veterinary Science on the ROTC Education Delay full-ride program. 2LT Rossi is the first Tiger BN cadet to receive the Health Professional Scholarship Program for Veterinary School. "I started applying to vet school my junior year of undergrad. It's a long application process that takes over a year. I had lots of support from ROTC during that time. Cadre worked around my schedule to be able to allow me to come to class. They were even willing to have one on one classes with me, they wrote me lots of amazing letters of recommendation, MSG Williams connected me with his mom who is a vet, so I could prepare for my interview, and cadre even showed up on my interview day to support me. Being able to apply a year early made the ed delay process much easier since I already had a letter of acceptance to show the board. Because of my ROTC experience I was specially selected to go to Lackland AFB this summer for an internship. Lackland is home of the breeding facility for all military working dogs and the military working dog hospital. I'll be shadowing veterinarians on base working in the clinic and in the field on special forces dogs. After graduation, I'll go to Fort Sam Houston for veterinary BOLC and then start my one year rotating internship hopefully at JBLM."
